Discussion Starters
- What did you learn from Jesus last week and how did you put it into practice in your life this week?
- What is the biblical definition of meekness? How is it different than how the world might define it?
- Why do you think Jesus connected “meekness” with “inheriting the earth?” What do you think that means for everyday life?
- How might assimilating Jesus’ words here change how we speak and act, both privately and publicly?
- How might embracing this posture enable you to share the gospel with your friends, neighbors, and co-workers?
Praying Together
In addition to praying for one another, pray for your friends, neighbors, or co-workers that don’t yet know Jesus with whom you’re hoping to share the good news of life in Jesus’ Kingdom. If you don’t have anyone that you’re praying for at this time, ask the Holy Spirit to put someone on your heart this week.

- What is the difference between mourning and despair?
- What comfort do you find in Jesus and his gospel? What might it look like for us as a community to embrace both sorrow for sin and joyful hope in Christ?
- How might embracing this posture enable you to share the gospel with your friends, neighbors, and co-workers?
